Following closely on the arrest and charge of Taxi Operator, Troy Graham on Sunday February 26, 2017 for uttering forged documents, on Thursday March 2, a fifty five year old man of Mason River Clarendon was charged for a similar offence by officers of the Revenue Protection Division (RPD).
The allegations are that on November 16, 2016 Michael McDonald tendered a Driver’s Licence at the Chapelton Tax Office when it was discovered to be fraudulent.
He was charged and offered bail in the sum of Fifty Thousand Dollars ($50,000.00).
McDonald is set to appear in the Chapelton Resident Magistrate’s Court on March 8, 2017.
His arrest and charge brings to four the total number of similar matters brought before the Chapelton court by the RPD within the last six (6) months.
The prevalence of these occurrences is a cause of concern and the RPD continues to encourage all persons to use the legitimate services provided by TAJ through its twenty-nine (29) Tax Offices island-wide, or its online service.
