FINANCIAL INSTITUTIONS OFFERING LONG-TERM SAVINGS INSTRUMENTS

The Ministry of Finance and Planning is in the process of reviewing all long term savings instruments being offered to the public under Section 12(4) (ag), of the Provisional Collection of Tax (Income Tax) (No.2) Order 2002.

Financial institutions issuing such instruments to the public are being asked to submit the following by June 30, 2003, to the Taxation Policy Division:

  • A detailed description of those long-term savings instruments which have been offered to the Public since 1999.
  • A list of all long-term savings accounts (LSAs) opened since 1999, where this has not been done.
  • As stipulated in the sixth Schedule of the Order, this information must include the investor's TRN, the amount invested, the date on which the account was opened and the institution's TRN.
