Three Revenue Measures Delayed until July 2012

The Ministry of Finance and Planning wishes to advise that the announced revenue measures as it relates to the GCT regime on Electricity, the termination costs for telephone calls and the modified asset tax for financial institutions and security dealers have been delayed until the month of July 2012. The new effective dates are as follows:
- The measure relating to GCT on Electricity will take effect on July 1, 2012,
- Adjustments to the termination fee structure as it relates to mobile to mobile and mobile to land termination will take effect July 15, 2012, and
- The modified asset tax for financial institutions and security dealers will take effect July 1, 2012
Dr. the Honourable Peter Phillips, Minister of Finance and Planning, announced the measures as a part of his opening budget presentation on Thursday, May 24, 2012.
