Ms. Darlene Morrison, CD is currently Jamaica’s Financial Secretary. As Financial Secretary, Ms. Morrison is the technical and administrative head of the Ministry of Finance and the Public Service.
Ms. Morrison joined the Ministry of Finance in 1989 as an Economist and has over the years held the posts of Senior Fiscal Economist, Senior Director/Deputy Financial Secretary of the Fiscal Policy Management Unit, Deputy Financial Secretary of the Public Enterprises Division and Deputy Financial Secretary of the Economic Management Division.
Ms. Morrison is a past student of St. Andrew High School and holds a Bachelor’s Degree in History and Economics from the University of the West Indies, Mona and a Master’s Degree in Economics from Clemson University, USA.
Ms. Morrison has participated in the formulation, execution and management of Jamaica’s programmes with the International Monetary Fund (IMF) and has had responsibility for the preparation, negotiation and financial management of projects with multilateral development agencies such as the Inter-American Development Bank, the World Bank, the European Union, the Caribbean Development Bank and the Japan International Cooperation Agency.
As Financial Secretary, Ms. Morrison currently has responsibility for the formulation and management of the country’s budget and fiscal policy.
