Strategic Human Resource Management

The Strategic Human Resource Management Division is the “Public Service” arm of the Ministry of Finance and the Public Service.

The Strategic Human Resource Management Division is the “Public Service” arm of the Ministry of Finance and the Public Service. This Division assists with the creation and implementation of government human resource policies and manages programs relating to compensation, benefits, employment and pensions for public sector employees and entities. Their aim is to develop and implement policies relating to Public Service which are consistent with modern human resource. This Division also deals with Scholarship Assistance.

Vision Statement

The management of Jamaica’s revenues is a matter of national governance. The Ministry of Finance and Public Service develops policies ensuring competent management of the nation’s public purse.

Mission Statement

To contribute to a stable macro economy by engendering trust and confidence in the tax system and sustaining cordiality and agreement between the taxpayers and the revenue authorities through adjudication, dispute resolution and engagement.
