Scholarships and Assistance

The Scholarships and Assistance Unit, Public Service Establishment Division, manages the GOJ Civil Service Training Programme and acts as Point of Contact for the various donor Agencies and Countries offering technical assistance to the Government under bilateral and multilateral agreements. In this regard, this office is responsible for disseminating information on training and study opportunities as they become available. For all the courses, unless otherwise stated.

THE NEW SCHOOL OAS SCHOLARSHIP

The General Secretariat of the Organization of American States (GS.OAS) and The New School in the United States have decided to support outstanding individuals from the Americas by awarding the following academic scholarships to continue their graduate studies.

APPLY FOR FELLOWSHIPS

The Inter-American Commission on Human Rights (IACHR) Fellowship for the Rapporteurship on the Rights of Afro-descendants and against Racial Discrimination is being offered to professionals in law, international relations, political science and other social sciences disciplines.

ORGANIZATION OF AMERICAN STATES SCHOLARSHIP

The Organization of American States in collaboration with The University of Tennessee, Knoxville encourages continuous learning by way of this scholarship opportunity for undergraduate programs in areas excluding nursing, music and architecture.

CHINESE GOVERNMENT SCHOLARSHIP FOR 2023/24

Applications are open for Jamaican government officials at the division chief level, senior manager of an institution, administrator of a university or scientific research institution and those who possess relevant employment or internship experience in international organisation who wish to pursue graduate studies at institutions of higher learning in China.

Applications for The Marcus Garvey Public Sector Scholarship is Now Open

The Marcus Garvey Public Sector Graduate Scholarship was estab-
lished in 2020 by the Government of Jamaica to offer Jamaican nationals and citizens employed in the public sector, the opportunity to obtain a postgraduate degree from competitive, appropriately accredited universities in Jamaica, North America and Europe.

STUDY IN INDIA

Indian Council for Cultural Relations (ICCR), under Atal Bihari Vajpayee General Scholarship Scheme 2023-24, offers Jamaican students an opportunity to pursue Undergraduate, Postgraduate degrees and Doctoral Research at premier Indian Universities, including the famed Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) & National Institute of Technology (NIT) for post graduate courses.

STUDY IN JAPAN

The Government of Japan is offering Jamaican citizens an opportunity to study at the Graduate level (research-based) at a Japanese University for the academic year 2024 (spring or fall). Please note that applicants should apply for current field of study or related studies.

Apply for STEM Scholarship (UTECH Jamaica)

Apply now for the GOJ’s STEM Scholarship for  those pursuing studies to become a STEM student.  

The Ministry of Finance and the Public Service’s Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics (STEM) Scholarship programme is geared at assisting some 1,000 students over the next five years at a total cost of $2.4 billion. These STEM scholarships will be used to support Jamaicans from low-income households. The programme was formed out of a partnership with the Students’ Loan Bureau in the MOFPS and the University of Technology, Jamaica.

Apply now for the GOJ’s STEM Scholarship for  those pursuing studies to become a STEM Teacher.  

The Ministry of Finance and the Public Service’s Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics Scholarship programme is geared at assisting some 1,250 new student teachers with full tuition scholarships over the next five years at Mico University College. The programme was formed out of a partnership with the Students’ Loan Bureau in the MOFPS and Mico University College.

TAX AUDIT AND REVENUE ADMINISTRATION (TARA) POST GRADUATE DIPLOMA PROGRAMME

Apply now for the Tax Audit & Revenue Administration Post-Graduate Diploma.

Entry Requirements:
📌 BSc. degree in Accounting, Management Studies, Business Administration or ACCA Level 2
📌 Two years of related work experience
📌 Working knowledge of computer applications

Applicants are required to sign a bonding agreement prior to the commencement of the programme and serve for a minimum of four (4) years at the end of the programme.

All applications should be submitted at Tax Administration, Jamaica, The Office Centre Building, 12 Ocean Boulevard, 6th floor.

CHEVENING SCHOLARSHIPS

Applications are now open for 2023 Chevening Scholarship.  Funded by the Foreign, Commonwealth and Development Office and partner organisations, Chevening offer awards to study in the UK for one year on a fully funded master’s degree course. There are many benefits to being selected, including fully funded tuition fees, access to some of the best quality education in the world, exclusive networking opportunities, and the chance to explore the UK’s diverse culture.

Public Sector Education Grants

Applications are invited for education grants to assist Public Sector workers and their children.  Documents required for application:

·       Acceptance Letter (for New students) /Transcript (for Returning students)

·       Tuition Cost Letter/Cost of Course

·       Birth Certificate (for Grant to Child of Public Sector Only)

·       Child TRN (for Grant to Child of Public Sector Worker Only)

CCRIF Postgraduate Scholarship 2022

The Caribbean Catastrophe Risk Insurance Facility (CCRIF) SPC is now inviting applications from citizens of CARICOM member countries and CCRIF member countries in the Caribbean for postgraduate studies in areas such as disaster risk management (DRM), disaster risk financing, natural resources management, risk management, climate change, civil with environmental engineering, actuarial science, and meteorology.
