The Fiscal Commissioner as head of the Independent Fiscal Commission has the duty to ensure the institution carries out the functions conferred on it by statutes. This position plays a strategically important role in monitoring and reporting on government economic and fiscal policy matters.
The Bank of Jamaica (BOJ) operates as an independent, inflation-targeting central bank statutory body under the amended Bank of Jamaica Act. Following the completion of the term of the current leadership, a new Governor is required to steer Jamaica’s financial sector through a transformative horizon spanning the next seven years.

The Scholarships and Assistance Unit, Public Service Establishment Division, manages the GOJ Civil Service Training Programme and acts as Point of Contact for the various donor Agencies and Countries offering technical assistance to the Government under bilateral and multilateral agreements. In this regard, this office is responsible for disseminating information on training and study opportunities as they become available.
