Budget

The Minister presents Government’s expenditure and revenue estimates for parliamentary approval at the start of each financial year (April to March of the following year). They are organised by public service into what is termed Heads of Estimates and reflect the government’s development policies and priorities. The Budget is prepared under the direction of the Financial Secretary. The Opening Budget Presentation is scheduled for March 7, 2023.

Budget Estimates

The Budget Estimates details the annual evaluation of expenditure by the Central Government for each fiscal year.

Public Bodies Budget

Public Bodies (PB) in Jamaica have been established to develop strategic sectors in Jamaica. The number of active entities is approximately 150.

Revenue Estimates

The MOFPS is responsible for Estimating the GOJ’s Revenues and involves calculating the amount of money the country is expected to earn each fiscal year.

Budget Memorandum

The Budget Memorandum is designed to provide an insight into the objectives and broad parameters of the Government’s fiscal programme.





Public Bodies Budget

Public Bodies1 (PB) in Jamaica have been established to develop strategic sectors in Jamaica. The number of active entities is approximately 150 and these perform regulatory, advisory, supervisory, research, technical, administrative or quasi-judicial functions of a governmental nature. Approximately 36 deliver public policy objectives while engaging in commercial activities.
