The Minister of Finance and the Public Service is pleased to announce the appointment of Dr. R. Brian Langrin as Governor of the Bank of Jamaica, effective Wednesday, August 19, 2026. Dr. Langrin will succeed Mr. Richard Byles, whose term concludes on Tuesday, August 18, 2026. The appointment is made by the Governor-General in Council.

The Ministry of Finance and the Public Service (MOFPS) has signed a new loan contract with the Inter-American Development Bank (IDB) valued at US$70 million to support the Continued Public Sector Transformation Programme.
