Newly appointed President of the Caribbean Development Bank, Dr. Hyginus “Gene” Leon paid a courtesy call to the Minister of Finance and the Public Service, the Hon. Nigel Clarke, DPhil, MP at his office this morning as part of the president’s first official visit to Jamaica.
Minister Clarke and President Leon shared spoke the strategic direction vision the Bank, including development imperatives for creating a dynamic, agile and sustainable regional economic space and initiate dialogue on the scope for strengthening the partnership between Jamaica and CDB both to advance Jamaica’s sustainable growth aspirations and leadership in regional development.
Other attendees of the meeting included Ms. Darlene Morrison, Financial Secretary and the President’s delegation Isaac Solomon, Vice President (Operations) of the Caribbean Development Bank, Ian Durant, Director, Economics Department Dorla Humes – Advisor to the President and Head of Corporate Communication.

The Government of Jamaica (GOJ) has introduced a new requirement for procuring entities to publicly disclose contracts awarded in situations of emergency or extreme urgency on the Government of Jamaica Electronic Procurement System (GOJEP) at www.gojep.gov.jm. This new requirement reinforces the GOJ’s commitment to transparency, accountability and public oversight.
