Kingston, Jamaica: Wednesday, June 10, 2026

The Government of Jamaica, through the Ministry of Finance and the Public Service, wishes to advise the public that representatives of the Government met with the Jamaica Police Federation today to continue discussions regarding wage negotiation of members of the Jamaica Constabulary Force.

The meeting was held in a constructive spirit, with both parties presenting their respective positions on the matters under negotiation. While the discussions were substantive and productive, the parties have agreed that further engagement is necessary to work through the outstanding issues in a thorough and responsible manner.

The Ministry of Finance and the Public Service is committed to analysing the substantial work of the JCF as embodied in the Technical Framework Agreement. In the meantime, the Ministry will respond to the Federation by Wednesday, June 17, 2026, regarding those items that are not being impacted by the Technical Framework Agreement.

The Government remains committed to engaging the Jamaica Police Federation in good faith and to reaching an outcome that recognises the critical role that members of the Constabulary play in maintaining public safety and national security, while remaining consistent with the Government’s fiscal framework and its obligations to all public sector workers.

The Ministry of Finance and the Public Service will provide further updates as the process advances.
